    Lazibek should be the favorite against Alfonso. Him, Hasanboy and Jalolov should win gold. Khalokov and Muydinkhujaev will be favorites to win gold. Overall potentially 5 gold medals. More than the ones they had in Rio.

    There was a thread before the Olympics started on who would win the most medals and I picked Uzbekistan. However, Cuba's participation this year was underwhelming. Alvarez and Lopez will be the only medalists, just two out of five contestants. Keep in mind you have fighters like Alfonso and Javier Ibanez, who are Cuban, but are competing for other countries - Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

    Stuff like inflation, food shortages and embargo are a big reason why many people are fleeing the country.

    Facts say it’s a man. The IOC essentially is just saying the IBA had no right to do a gender test, not that it’s wrong, and the marks remain on Khelif’s boxing record. There seems to be a flood of smooth brains just saying “it’s a woman just because” “it can give birth etc” with nothing to back it up. This is not a difficult situation to clear up.

    For Khelif’s own reputation, you would think he/she would want to clear it up.

    Facts? Do you really consider the findings of a test with an unspecified methodology conducted by a historically corrupt organisation such as IBA to be facts? LMFAO

    Additionally, those "facts" of yours do not even state that she is male, but that "she had competitive advantages over other female participants"...

    She is a woman, period. Her father already "cleared it up", saying that boxing in the Olympics has been her dream since Khelif was a six year old girl.

    You people act like the IBA's so-called gender test involved them yanking her pants down and revealing a wang. Not so. What she failed was testosterone levels. Then in order to justify their decision to ban her and Lin Yu Ting from competition, the IBA lied and made some plaque unfalsifiable claims about some kind of additional DNA test but have failed to divulge any specifics of what methodology, citing "privacy concerns".

    This is the IBA, mind you, for whom deceit has long been stock & trade. But sure, let's believe these goons over Khelif, her family, the Algerian government, the IOC, and every amateur boxing commission to ever license her.

    Goofy asses. Just take your L and move on already.

    Cheers for this, been meaning to watch a lot of the boxing but haven't got round to it yet. Will make sure I catch as much as I can this week.

    Who are the best talents to look out for? I don't really watch much amateur boxing outside of Olympics and the occasional world championships.
