There's another session before that coming up at 4:15pm EDT, about eight and a half hours away.

More welter, super heavy, and light heavy.

I am watching Caroline Dubois right now and am wondering why her brother doesn't have half her skills. If he had a smidge of her head movement, foot work and counter punching he'd be a legit threat to anyone.

Yeah she's a quality boxer alright, I must say the ladies in general have been exhibiting a really high standard of boxing here compared to what we get in the pros. This new generation would smoke the current one.
Daniel's an eejit for not seasoning himself a bit more in the amateurs before turning over. He's still so young as it is.

Never mind this ...just a replay of this morning's action. I was getting frustrated that NBC didn't list who's competing on their upcoming live schedule, and looked at the schedule of the IOC directly. Yeah, no more actual live boxing for 12 hours. It says "welter, heavy and light heavy men's quarterfinals", which, yeah, those have all wrapped up already. So they're promising a 'live' replay.

We've got some really good fights tomorrow guys.

    Sofiane Oumiha vs. Keyshawn Davis
    Hovhannes Bachkov vs. Javid Chalabiyev
Daniel Panev Asenov vs. Gabriel Escobar Mascunano

Oumiha vs. Davis winner will probably go straight to the final. Favoring Keyshawn here but Oumiha is pretty slick and elusive. Keyshawn looked great in his first fight but maybe he's too deep in the pro game and Oumiha will make him pay for that. Oumiha beat Andy Cruz two years ago albeit it was in France and i thought Cruz won and was robbed. Last fight between Oumiha and Davis ended with an UD win for Davis.

Definitely rooting for Keyshawn as i have a outright bet on him to win gold at +600 haha.

At this point we're gonna be getting all the elite matchups. Can't wait for it, I have a long weekend thanks to a bank holiday so I can watch a load of them too! Walsh and Walker are fighting half an hour apart in massive fights on the Saturday night/early Sunday morning, gonna be such a dirty session at my house for that lol.

Yes. We're up for a GREAT weekend of amateur boxing.

    Sunday Schedule looks insane:

    - McCormack/Walsh
    - Walker/Ragan
    - Khataev/Whittaker
    - Darchinyan/Marcial
    - Clarke/Aliev
    - Alvarez/Butdee
    - Lopez/Alfonso Dominguez
    - Torrez Jr/Pero
    - Veriasov/Kunkabayev

Sunday probably the BEST day of Men's Boxing so far. I'll will probably put my alarm on 4 AM to watch all the fights. There isn't much pro boxing this weekend anyway.

Yeah, not much boxing of note, I'm only really gonna be watching Tommy McCarthy, the Olympics and maybe a bit of Bellator because they've got the UFC beat this weekend for quality.

Yeah same. Hell, got up that early today just for Iglesias vs. Johnson and Zamkovoy vs. Madiev, neither of which ever had their outcomes in all that much doubt.

Whittaker actually has the style to cause him problems and beat him but Khataev who is drawing comparisons with Beterbiev is obviously very strong and powerful and if he catches him clean he can take him out.

I like Davis a lot, but I wish he had longer arms.

If you're confused about it being the 'morning session' despite it not being yet midnight EST - well, you should be although maybe not for the correct reasons. (remember, the host nation is Japan...and Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of NYC; so it already is tomorrow for them. Problem is, the current time is ten minutes past noon, and this is the first bout of the session, meaning there's nothing "morning" about them :nusenuse:)
