Boxing basics lesson one. How to score a close rd!

That is nothing controversial in what are you saying, the controversial would be if boxer B is a cash cow and he gets the nod in these rounds.

 

It depends on the impact of the punch, how clean it landed and also on whether boxer B was setting traps for boxer A so that he could effectively score the counter punch or whether he was running and then scored the counter punch when boxer A caught up to him.

I score fights primarily on punches landed, defence, effectiveness of punches and I keep a tab of who's outlanding who second by second, minute by minute and at the end of the 3 minutes you have a fair idea of who won the round. Giving a round solely on perceived better ring generalship/fighter you think is controlling the flow is bull**** when that fighter is not landing much and getting hit (Zab Judah-Mabuza is a good example).

I would not know who won that round without having seen the rest of it.

 

In the event Boxer B dominates boxer A throughout the fight, award a points victory to Boxer A.

 

It needs alot more detail. All punches are not equal. Maybe boxer B's punch hurt Boxer A.

Was Boxer b running or moving and giving angles? Which Boxer was more effective in there tactics? Ring generalship counts for alot, especially since boxer A's aggression does not seem effective...only landing one punch and all

 

How landed the cleaner and harder punches

 

Based on this info alone, I would say draw. I think judges will favor the one who initiated the action.

You are right if the fighter is not landing and getting hit his ring generalship is bull****. Much like the effective aggression of a fighter coming forward and not landing and getting countered is bull****.
