    Just a quick question.....

Is there any kind of benevolent fund for boxers that fall on hard times?

You hear a lot about fighters who seem to end up potless even before they retire and have to keep fighting.....

There is one in rugby league and a lot of current and ex players get involved in fundraising etc.

If the BBBoC don't have one, IMO it's high time they did.

i am pretty shure McGuigan did something.

I reckon all fighters should have to put a percentage of there purse into a retirment fund that they can access when they are 40 or when they retire, and that promoters should have to put in an equal amount. make it law for anyone who promotes or fights in a british ring.

And ****s like Audley should have to pay double!

    Seriously.....

I feel that if fighters were either forced (or strongly encouraged) to put a proportion of their fight purses (say 2.5%) once they earn more than a set amount per fight within a BBBoC backed scheme for them to access upon retirement.

Rather that than see Evander Holyfield fighting into his 50's!

I'm not sure, I think international businessman Rob Palmer should start one.
