First of I'm a big Manny Pacquiao fan. I want to know what you guys think about boxing's scoring system. I think it is flawed. Take last night's fight for example. Yes, Manny had Bradley in troubled waters and yes he had the more telling blows, but the fight is scored by rounds... Manny can win a round convincingly but having a breather on the next negates it. What do you guys think? I've always stated that Pac-Jmm IIIt was no robbery and I'll say it for this one as well. Fight is scored by rounds. In my eyes Bradley took rounds 10, 11, and 12. I think pac gassed out and let Bradley take the championship rounds. I'm befuddled at how much fight pac has left in him. Years ago, Pac would have jumped on Bradley on the 11th and 12th rounds. The Manny Pacquiao that fought last night was a shadow of himself. Let's enjoy this once-in-a-liftime fighter coz it won't be long til we see the end of him.
The problem is that judges automatically award 9 points to the loser of the round unless there is a knock down. Sometimes even a savage beating won't get a 10-8 round. WTF? Why have 10 points if you aren't going to use them except for KDs? A KD is just one point deducted. Don't score lopsided rounds 10 flippin 9.
True that Hermit.. here lies the problem. One fighter takes the other in ***** streets then scores just a 10-9 round. I wonder what the amateur scoring system would fare in pro boxing.
