Has any body used this as a supplement to training at a gym? http://www.abebooks.co.uk/9781880336823/Boxing-Week-Course-American-Martial-1880336820/plp
I don't really find boxing instructional books to be very helpful. However, I do like to read boxing biographies. I feel like it's good motivation when you read about a particular boxer's struggles.
Not a good idea, because even if you think you're doing something right..You don't have someone who knows what they're doing watching you to tell you. There's been countless times at the gym where I think i've been doing something right but then one of the coaches has came along and corrected me
i know what you mean mate it's like this with Youtube vids about boxing techniques as well, if you try and copy them half the time you go to the gym and your coach will tell you you're not doing it right
I have found reading up on websites has helped as I tend to need showing thigs a few times and I dont get much chance for that at training
I read one of that guy's other books. had some nice drills to use, and ?I REALLY liked his closing chapter on mindset. Talked about how a lot of fighters beat themselves by not thinking they deserve to succeed, etc. I wouldn't pay for that book though.
You need someone to look at what you are doing. You cant see the little things that an experienced trainer can.
I understand that and I have that but I just want something to help me out a little bit in my own time. If I learn something extra and Im doing it slightly wrong it will get picked up on. Just wondering if this is a good book?
