Right I was planning on purchasing some more boxing career sets, so far I have an Oscar de la Hoya one and a Floyd Mayweather one my dad bought me (hopefully he doesn't fight again so I have the complete set.) Anyway my question was. Do you yourself own any boxing career sets and if so which is your favourite one? I'm also considering purchasing one for Christmas and have come up with four possibilities. Nigel Benn, Shane Mosley, Marco Antonio Barrera and Emmanuel Pacquiao (I might wait till he's actually retired to buy this one though, same goes for Shane.) Which one you do believe I should buy, it shall influence my decision heavily. You don't like any of those options, then suggest your own.
I own... Marco Antonio Barrera Michael Spinks Michael Carbajal Myung Woo Yuh (Not a career set but acquired 23 fights of his so it's a set now) Julio Cesar Chavez Ricardo Lopez Wilfredo Gomez Roberto Duran Orlando Canizales ...My favorite is obviously MAB but he's my hero so it hardly counts.
I have Shane Mosley and Nigel Benns. Erm I like Benns a lot its just sometimes a wish he was a bit more stylish (like Oscar). He did have some boring fights though, don't expect lots of classics. Him vs Juan Calos Jiminez was the worst fight I've ever seen (the fans were actally rioting in the back seats), Galvano and a few others. Lots of early knockouts, not one I'd recomend if you enjoy competitive fights. He brought power and excitement but in terms of opposion there was something to be desired for plenty of his fights. Shane Mosley's entire lightweight run is full of one sided fights too (although that panamanian dude and the mexican gave him a good fight), but I'd much rather watch him use a full range of boxing skills than see Benn club somone to the floor but thats just me. There is a few stinkers like his fight against Mayorga, plus his fights against Cruz and Estrada are very poor. Vargas fights are good as is the Oscar fights. Wilfredo Rivers fight was a very even fight. To me Mosley. I just prefer his style, back in the day he could do it all. Seeing all his lightweight fights is awesome to watch. Better resume, nicer style to watch, was on top for longer than Benn and much more rounds as well. If you have any questions ask away mate
addie, i know i've asked but where do you get your stuff from? (i just got shafted for the THIRD time from a site which i'm about to post on here)
One to suggest is Erik Morales. There is not one single fight of his from his first world title shot onward that I would not watch again. There is legends on there like Pacquiao, Barrera (6 quality fights there, two are classics). Even guys like Jesus Chavez, Junior Jones, In Ji Chin, Gutsy Espades Junior, Wayne Mccolough and Paulie Ayala are all world class. If you have seen few of his fights I'd recomend that. Obviously it depends on what style you like (like I said I'm not to keen on seeing Benn, even though he is ultra exciting), but I feel this set would be complete in most ways.
I have MAB, Duran, Pacman and Sweet Pea. Next might be JCC , want to get Erik's but I already have his three wars with MAB, and fights with Pacman.
