I hope that bottom line is true.Sky did show alot of fights that were on HBO-maybe even all of them at one point inc.Jermain Taylors medicore defences along with all the mega fights of course.
Do you know how good Sky were before Setanta??? On one night they showed both the Tarver vs Hopkins card AND the Cotto vs Mallignaggi card LIVE... They WILL be back.
Did I not just acknowledge that Sky had good coverage?:huh I would like to reiterate,I hope what you're saying about Sky being back to what they were is true
I just feel sorry for the poor ****s(Nelson,McCrory & Co.) who have to stay up in the studio to watch fights like Spinks/Taylor.Atleast they can rip Taylor to pieces as a release afterwards. Spare a thought for Jim Watt and Darke going over to commentate on Floyd/Baldomir.Thing is,we took these fights for granted.
Thats true but if my memory serves me right, Sky were already going off the ball where boxing from America was concerned before Setanta came along...
While the cost is probably the main issue, there's also the question of what to show? What exactly is going to be shown on the channel from Sunday morning to Saturday afternoon? How would you fill a typical day (let's say a Wednesday)? How many people are going to be watching a boxing only channel? Housewives won't. Pensioners, only the selected few who are interested. Which basically means that from 8 to 5 you hardly have anyone tuning in.
