i started coaching young lads aroung 10 years ago only because my younger brother took it up, i have never boxed before but i love the sport and know it inside out i have been quite successful as a young coach so far even tho i have come in for critism from some people as 'how can i know anything about boxing if i have never done it?' the 2 that spring to mind are angelo dundee and cus d'amato but how many good coaches never boxed?
Angelo Dundee. His book "My View From The Corner" is a good read if you can get hold of it. He watched his brother fight, and learned the game from them. Most of his early career people said it wasn't right that he was training fighters without ever having fought. People stop saying that after you have trained a few world champions though!
