    Hi dudes,

i'm just messing round with the idea of sticking some coaching video's on line for beginners and just want a litte feedback regarding whether you as a beginner would find this helpful or not?

Its just a video of two left hooks one thrown wrong and one thrown right... i've literally took two minutes to do them but if the feedback is good i'll do some more... any suggestions or critisms welcomely recieved- yes I know I speak like a farmer.... other then that please help.... Thanks

My mate kenny was asked to throw a 1-2- hook combo - he's always had difficulty throwing the hook properly so I thought I'd record it to show him where he was going wrong....

This is the second video.... Again its only a tester so please critisise and tell me what you think...

I watched the second video and thought it was quite good, but couldnt think of any improvements maybe just going over your points again, perhaps shooting from another angle..

Looks quite good the only other thing i think you could mention for the hook is hand positioning of the hand throwing the punch. I don't know what your thoughts are on the subject but one thing that really helped me gain a bit of power into the shot and feel more natural throwing the punch was when i was told to point my thumb skywards rather than have it pointing at my face.

The right heal needs to roll off the ground when he throws the right hand .Then it can be stamped down as the left foot rolls up allowing easy transfer of the weight as you hook.

As far as making the video's go.. I may suggest you set it up were you can get a side by side comparison in the same video of the good hook and the bad one.

I didn't know about a the weight transfer on the back foot so it was pretty useful to me.

for the first video, perhaps consider including the same symbols as the second? It is a small thing, I think it would be easier to remember and make the contrast clearer at the same time. I'm more of a visual person so I taught the symbols which were drawn as the explanation went on were a nice addition.

The videos were just recorded for the purpose of showing him where he was going wrong the coaching tool came after

  12. Good idea mate, maybe you could be in the videos though and do a series showing how to throw specific shots.

If he brings his right foot up, more under the shoulder, he'll get his weight turned all the way, on the right hand before the hook, the hook, and the right hand after the hook.
That is a good way of diagramming it, highlighting the foot and the hip, etc...A view from the front would be good. That would show how the weight starts to turn at the floor and works it's way up the body.

Front Foot to far forward, should be of the Heel.
