If I hadn't of made some really bad predictions myself I'd probably be laughing. Actually I am laughing, but I shouldn't be. Hell, off the top of my head I have backed: Adamek to beat Dawson. Toney to beat Peter. Twice. Kessler to beat Ward. Darchinyan to beat Donaire. Jones to beat Green. On the other hand, I did predict Joe would beat Lacy. So I guess a lol is in order.
I like those two sites with American writer's predictions. Out of 26 writers, 23 picked Lacy (and most by KO). I remember doing a search for predictions on various sites about this bout and the numbers were fairly similar, about only 8 in 50 picking Calzaghe. Especially like this writer's use of words in his prediction: Joe Rein - "Joe should have his early innings – between pride, hand speed and 40,000 at the MEN Arena screaming for him – but, ultimately, he’ll be bludgeoned into the canvas by the eighth round :rofl

:good Which just typifies the behaviour of many of the so-called "Know-it-all experts" doesn't it Morrissey mate? They'd watched one guy fight a couple of times, they had never even bothered themselves to watch his opponent (Who was a world champion and had a 40-0 record) fight (not even on vhs!) and yet they had the temerity to even predict how the fight will end/which round it will end etc!! And to top it all, upon their "Predictions" being proved spectacularly wrong they had the nerve to say "Well how was I supposed to know? I'd only seen one guy fight"! As if their ignorance was justification for getting proved wrong!!! To all those "Experts" who had never watched JC fight but decided to predict his demise regardless, here's a tip: TRY ACTUALLY WATCHING BOTH FIGHTERS FIGHT BEFORE MAKING A PREDICTION, YOU ****ING MORONS!!!
None of them are bad predictions on paper. Ward over Kessler surprised a lot of people, as did Green over Jones. Toney should have taken Peter both times.
I quoted the sweet science predictions before, it gos to show how great that victory was for calzaghe. Very few thought he would make it out of the fight let alone completely dominate. In hindsight the ref should have stopped it. Lacys heart was ripped out of him that night.
