I know threads and discussions have been going on for weeks about coverage since the launch of Boxnation and the demise of boxing coverage on SKY. I want UK boxing fans to make their voices heard and complain to SKY, hoping that they will improve the current standard of coverage for next year as this year they have thrashed by Boxnation; a new channel - new to the game, yet able to show so much and of course at the moment free of charge! Before any critisim I must state over the last few years SKY coverage of boxing has been second to none especially in glorious HD. UK fans only know about the best fighters in the world because SKY have shown them consistently over the 10 years or so. Also its significant that SKY have lost out after building up the likes of Amir Khan and fighters from the ****** stable, no doubt. HATS OFF SKY FOR PRIZEFIGHTER - LOVE IT AND WELL DONE / MADE, CREDIT DUE TO SKY FOR THIS However if SKY are going to take a backseat beacuse of losing out, with showing average cards or only concentrating on domestic cards ( not the best of ! because its all on Boxnation ) then SKY should STOP WASTING OUR SUB MONEY (the SKY boxing team just can't justify their jobs at the moment for me with such poor coverage). Then they should not cover boxing at all and use it to show other sports better. IF SKY HAVE GOT COMPETITION THEN SKY AS WITH PREVIOUS YEARS SHOULD SHOW THEIR BOTTLE AND SHOW THEY ARE THE BEST. In the current climate with Boxnation free it might seem i'm complaining for nothing, but I was looking forward to seeing the best fighters in the sport, atleast one of the big cards from the US in HD, with the more the professional production of SKY! Imagine Cotto vs Margarito 2 in HD live from Madison Square Gardens. SKY MUST USE THE MONEY SAVED ON KHAN, ****** AND OTHERS AND MAKE AN EMPHASIS TO SHOW THE BEST OF THE SPORT, THE BEST LB FOR LB FIGHTERS IN THE WORLD. ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO STATE INTEREST IS LOW IN THIS COUNTRY ! - REGARDLESS OF INTEREST IF THEY COVER THE SPORT THEN THEY MUST SHOW THE BEST OF IT! OTHER SPORTS ARE SHOWN AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL - EVEN THOUGH THERE MIGHT BE NO BRITISH INTEREST FOR INSTANCE SOUTH AFRICA VS AUSTRALIA 20/20 CRICKET WAS SHOWN YESTERDAY IN HD!!! FROM CAPE TOWN LIVE!!!! I and alot of UK Boxing Fans are really disappointed that none from six of the best fighters in the world fighting in/over the last/next 2 months are being shown. NOT FAIR ESPECIALLY AFTER DOING WELL ON THE HAYE/AUDLEY AND KLITCHSKO AND ALSO GROVES VS DEGALE ON BOX OFFICE WHICH I ORDERED ALL OF THEM. I'm sure if Boxnation and other worldwide channels such as Australia Main Event can afford to show all the Best fighters then surely its not the money thats the issue. To me the BOXING TEAM AT SKY NEED TO PULL THEIR FINGERS OUT AND REQUEST THAT SKY SHOW THE BEST FIGHTS/FIGHTERS IN HD, INSTEAD OF ACCEPTING WHAT THE SKY BOSSES SAY. IF THEY ARE GOING TO COVER THE SPORT THEN LIKE PREVIOUS YEARS THEY SHOULD MIX DOMESTIC WITH SHOWING THE BEST THE SPORT HAS TO OFFER AS WELL. If coverage does not improve I will be cancelling my sub and subing to Boxnation with the odd PRIMETIME PPV!!! If you agree then a quick e-mail to SKY stating we are unhappy that from fights involving Mayweather, Hopkins, Donaire, Pacman, Marquez and Cotto, nothings been shown !!!!! Main Event is PPV. Hopkins vs Dawson is about £20 for them tomorrow. Emails are going to do **** all. Actually cancelling is the only thing that will make them take any notice.
Believe me in US its PPV but i'm sure international rights are cheaper than actually doing a small hall dometic show SKY probably spend more on production costs for the shows than the actual viewing rights!!!!
Yep, although the fraction of Sky subscribers that only subscribe for their boxing coverage must be tiny.
