Archie Moore for what he could tell me about the world. Barney Ross for what he could tell me about life. Jack Dempsey because he knew everyone.

excellent, I was there in 1982, I saw this guy Running/Training with those Old Leather Ski Boots, Opened, loosely tied so he would also have to control his every step just to keep them on.

anyway, he was your typical looking rugged fighter of Italian or Latino nationality, kind of Gatti like in looks, small maybe 5'7" full lean build, probably a WW or LW... I always wondered who he was and how far he got?

No idea. Sac was a decent fight town. I remember a downtown watering hole that had a huge picture of Max Baer on display, like a shrine to the champ.

Liston, Tyson, and Foreman. Would be so interesting seeing them interact.

The idea that we’d have to choose three guys from different weight divisions (I know a lot of guys moved through several so I’d say stick to what people generally think of as primary, i.e. light heavyweight for Archie Moore) seems to have gone out the window.

I wanted that so it wasn’t just ‘let’s get these guys together to talk about their fights against each other’ and more personality-driven … who’d be the most interesting or pleasant dinner guests kind of thing.

    Oh well.

Those who picked three heavyweights — you have to pay the bill. That’ll show ya!
