I don't know if Floyd is going to fight Pac someday. But one thing for sure is that he is not going to fight him after more than year layoff without a tune-up. Ortiz-Floyd is better than Floyd-Mathew Haton
It will be a tragedy for TRUE BOXING FANS and not for fans of Floyd or Pac. The funny thing is, even if you was a fan of either, you still want to see your man beat the absolute best for bigger bragging rights. As the OP said, if true legends of boxing can get into the ring and fight, then these 2 can most certainly do it to. With all the money they have earned, they can take this fight for free and still live like kings.....
**** them both. Boxing will go on without them and it's silly to still dream for that fight to happen as it won't. Pacquiao's recent opponents have been bad choices and Mayweather needs to decide whether he'll continue to box or retire soon.
At least most of the boxers in the SMW division are leading the way and actually fighting each other. Oh for the Halcyon days of the 1980s when the best faced each other on a regular basis.
It's obvious Pacquiao fans are annoyed that the fight hasn't been made yet by how much they are criticizing Floyd-Ortiz, but they should be happy Floyd is fighting again. Floyd's fighting a quick lefthander, and both Roach and Pacquiao have said this looks like a tune up for a fight against Pacquiao. I'm sure they're right. Floyd's going to need a fresh infusion of cash soon, and I'll bet that HBO told Floyd he needs to fight Manny or they won't host his fights anymore, and Floyd said, "Ok, let me have one tune up." They said "OK, but the next one's against Pac." Is it just a coincidence that Arum and GBP made up a few days before Floyd's fight was announced? The only obstacles left are the Arum/HBO rift, which can be solved with $$ when The Fight is made, and the Arum/Pac lawsuit against the Mayweathers, which Arum will use as a bargaining chip against Floyd in The Fight negotiations, as he always intended to. You watch, when The Fight is made, Mayweather will get a big pile of $$, the lawsuit will disappear, Arum and HBO will be friends again, and the testing issue will magically go away. . . . Pacquiao fans need to take a deep breath and relax, and let Mayweather fans enjoy their moment.
