    Hey all

I am a doctor based in London and the South East. I am looking to get into doing some medicals etc for boxing/MMA etc as required then maybe do some ringside stuff in time.

I have got myself on the approved ABAE list of doctors but wondering how best to move further. Presume most clubs have their own doctor but is there anywhere to best look/advertise services etc?

    Cheers

Look for other organizations to get involved with and get your name out there, that's it.

    Thanks

Do you reckon I can approach clubs directly? Or is there somewhere I can advertise where you guys would look?

How does it normally work? Do you find a doc through your club or just go to your own GP for your medical?

    Cheers

I don't see the harm in approaching the clubs directly, though it may seem abnormal. Just explain to them your new and your looking to get more involved, a friendly attitude will go a long way in this sport.

My only other thought would be to contact staff in the organization your with and see if they can point you in the right direction.

For USA Boxing amateurs, the sanctioning body for the amateur fights provides the doctors at ringside and locker room. Outside of matches, we just go to any physician that'll take the insurance we have through getting our passbook. I know very little about the insurance but it is pretty basic.
