Seems like HBO doesn't want to do any promotion. Not that they even show any fights either.
3 fights in 3 months? No wonder people are unsubscribing.

One boxing documentary I liked, was shown a few times, different years in the 1980's and early 1990's, on one of those UHF channels, I think it might've been PBS, channel 28 or KDOC 56 (in Southern California).

It was whether boxing should be banned or not, by the AMA (American Medical Association).

In the end of the documentary, it showed an old man wearing a black hat and showing old photos and saying "I can show you boxing", "I know boxing" or something like that... Maybe it was Ray Arcel, cause he looked like him.

One was made recently about Sean Mannion, the kid from Ireland who moved to Boston at age 14 and fought Mike McCallum for the world title and initially made a name for himself as Marvin Hagler's unhurtable punching bag for hire. Eerily similar story to Steve Collins. Very tough dude. Works construction and lives in Fields Corner Dorchester.

"Sons of cuba" is one of the best documentaries about boxing I've ever watched.

    Good stuff, fellows.

I just remembered the BBC's Bad Boy Boxer: The Last Chance, which documents Lee Selby's ascent from toking teen to titlist. Another good one.

I will get around to updating the list with all the nominations before another week has passed.
