Has anybody ordered DVD's from the Boxing Galore web site. I am ordering the Hagler & Salvadore Sanchez,DVD sets as well as the Ali-Frazier Trilogy, Coralles-Castillo 1 and Holyfield-Tyson 1 all for under $100.

I am concerned about the quality of the DVD's, any opinions will be helpful and greatly appreciated.

I buy my DVDs from http://www.planetpugilism.com/ because one thing I like about his stuff is that it's the "ORIGINAL BROADCAST" often times, not a rebroadcast. If it was on a PPV, he shows the entire ppv.

For rare fights like what you're getting and I doubt some of those matches have been rebroadcasted, I say it's not a bad idea.. I have nothing negative to say about that site you posted in question..

But in general with other sites, I can't STAND rebroadcast (where you'll see the ESPN Classic label in the corner)..

If you're asking about Planetpugilism, the stuff thats NOT filmed in HD are first generation copies. I have an eye for it and I can tell which is why I endorse his stuff wholeheartily. I think on his site he has actual screen shots.

You bring up a good point. There is a guy that sells boxing videos and I'm NOT gonna say his name because he is well intentioned. He has probably one of the best collections I've witnessed on the web but some of his stuff, the quality is like 5th generation, borderline water colors...

Now I understand that when you're talking about fights from the 70's that had much less pixels than we're used to today and aging and all. But I bought a Marvin Hagler fight from him (against Boogaloo Watts) and it's nearly unwatchable..

The one question I'd ask which is why I touched on it it is ask if these are REBROADCAST (not always a bad thing) and what is the quality. Did he get a copy of a tape which is a copy and he reproduced it from that??

    That 4th generation already..

Got the fights back last week and the above quote is ****ing true. These are legitimate broadcasts of fights (even the old Salvadore and Hagler fight) with network commentating. It was also an extra treat hearing Cosell. I cant wait until they add even more to their collection like Arguallo, Duran and early Foreman.
