I'm interested to see what the actual boxers and trainers in this section think about these clips. Are the two modern fighters in these clips better or worse than the older ones? Which group has more flaws? What are those flaws, and how serious are they?

Pep is better than pac Man, without a doubt. Robinson and Mayweather could be considered closer, though I believe SRR was better than Floyd is. But I think Pep probably would have eaten Pac Man up. Pac Man; as good as he is, is relatively 1 dimensional-very physically gifted and athletic, strong; but you know he's basically going to come at you-he isn't going to outbox you. Although I think a better video if available for Pep is necessary-wasn't Sandy Saddler basically Pep's nemesis? I don't know enough about classic boxing to comment on it. Although even in this video you can see Pep has a good measure of distance and was quite crafty and knew the dirty tricks you could pull, too.

    well to be honest.
mayweather is the pound 4 pound king for this era ray robinson is the greatest pound 4 pound of all time. to say which is better is silly.

and paquiao is a awkward slugger who has a decent reach good hieght and power and works his southpawness effectivly

pep is seen as the greatest defencive fighter of all time.

but technically i see mayweather taking this robinson as amazing as he was with his left hook and jab to win the rounds his defence wasnt as tight he would take punches often. maybe not big bombs but he could get tapped.
mayweather is super hard to hit,has better hand speed, decent combo's and great basics
robinson can do everything a little better or a little worse. but floyd has a big advantage in the way that he is so har to hit.

    I'll post something quick.
I'm my opinion it's impossible to compare the two. Some say the old school fighters would destroy todays fighters. But you really can't say unless you have them fight, which is impossible.
Both of them have there advantages and disadvantages.

True, thats just like when people say they "think" it would be a style mismatch..

Thats like saying no one ever studies the tapes and changes their game plan..

A great fighter changes his style to overcome the opponents doesnt matter how many people say its a mismatch, needless to say, there will always be fighters who just have anothers number still.. But that doesnt really mean its a style mismatch.. Well, not always.. Thing is, you dont know until you see the people step in the ring, to prove if its a mismatch or not, cause of course they do happen, but you just can't call it before the fight happens.. Im not saying i dont, because thats all we have to work with when calling a fight.. BUT, the point is, you will never really know.. Hatton Mayweather, AND Mosley Cotto will both be good examples of this..

    In a head to head.

Pac would beat Pep most likely by KO.

    SRR would beat PBF.
