What do you mean Lennox Lewis made it. He was considered boring by American public. He fought Tyson and Holyfield thats why Americans tuned in.

So why did they also tune in for Tua, McCall, Golota, Klitschko etc?

I like big Klitschko, but the fact that Manny had to berate him to throw more punches indicates that it wasn't one of Wladimir's best performances. But I take your point that the fact that 51,000 turned out for this event should be celebrated. That's two weeks in a row that there has been massive Stadium shows, and there's more to follow in London, New York and hopefully Dallas again. Mass audiences at events like this show that Boxing is in fine health. So your right in your assertion that people should stop moaning and embrace the positives.

If it was such a good display then why is his trainer going mad at him after 11 rounds. Wladimir continues to frustrate fight after fight and it took a dressing down from Manny before Wlad got the job done. This clip speaks Volumes!

Obviously Manny knew that Wlad would take a shitload of criticism if he just got a decision vs Chambers, who was running for like 10 rounds. On the other hand, it's not very easy to knock out a guy who's running all the time and fights only to avoid being knocked out. So, credit to Wlad for getting the KO.

It's not easy to knock anybody out when you adopt a safety first mentality.:hey

That Wlad was able to go out and spark Chambers after Manny clearly rattled him like that just goes to show he can turn it on anytime he likes, Thats so frustrating and a big reason why he gets so much hate.

You guys are backwards as hell. Wlad boxes smart... but it isn't his fault that his fights are sometimes less entertaining for his critics. Wlad is easily dominating his opponents and stopping them. It is his opponents who refuse to try and make a fight of it.

Joe Louis and Wladimir has similarities in their respective era, both dominating and fighting near perfect.

Had Wladimir been American we would've heard a different story on here.:good

it is not Wlad/Vitali's fault - it is the calibre of their oppentents - they are giving all comers a chance to fight them but none of them are good enough to make it a fight.

of course their fights are boring - they are totally one sided. they dont go through cans like tyson but give them a good fight and we will see a good performance (like lewis/vitali)

The difference is that these guys aren't cans. These guys are top notch heavyweights. Wlad is just simply on another level.

they may not be can and they are today's top level heavyweight but they are poor compared to the level of competion of 15 years ago. I think a Ruddock Bowe or Holyfield beats Peters, Chambers, Johnson etc. quite too.

I dont know if Haye can beat them, infact I dont know if Haye would even bring it in a fight with the klits - I can see anyone pull them in to deep waters in this generation of HW but 15 years ago I see many real challanges for the Klits.

The funny thing is the contradiction in fans lol... Floyd is called boring, but you watch him, Wlad is boring, and you say you don't like to watch him. The average boxing fan loves to see ko's. If you display any skill, and don't fight like Gatti, you are labeled boring. Imo, people would watch Wlad more if he didn't hold and hit, grab your neck, or dig to the body more.
