If Henry Armstrong was fighting in this era, he'd be labelled a dirty dirty cheat just like Ward is now by some very ignorant folk! Real boxing fans however love his game and enjoy the art of infighting that A.Ward displays. He is one of the best fighters on the planet, on the inside and out. He has a complete game, that's why he's also known as The All Terrain Fighter.

Many boxing fans don't understand infighting, including many people here... that's why they can't appreciate the art of infighting by A.Ward.

Fact is- Andre is one of the most exciting, complete fighters in the game. It's a shame not everybody understands this man's style.

    Discuss.

If I want to watch great infighting I'd go watch Duran, Chavez.....if I want to watch Greco Roman I'd watch Ward.

I do appreciate Andre Ward, but i don't enjoy his fights, he seems to me like a really cool guy, he is imo the best p4p fighter in the world and arguably the most skilled fighter in the world, you can learn a lot by watching him and he does things that no one does and is an incredible fighter when it comes to adaption, but i can't stand fighters that clinch so much, that's it.

Sven Ottke was even better than Ward, which meant he was even more boring. It's about millions of dollars and their health, he couldn't give a **** what his fans want. Bad for the fans, good for him I guess.

Ward will never have fans who appreciate him because of his boxing skills. He will never be remembered. He will retire as a rich man, but that's it. No one will discuss about him within the next decades.

I guess I am in the minority? I enjoy watching most great boxers through the years as well as good ones and decent ones. I appreciate a variety of styles. I truest enjoy Ward and he is one of my don't miss his fights, fighters

I don't think that any one is denying that Andre has legitimately impressive athletic abilities and boxing skills. What annoys them is that despite these advantages he resorts to head-butting and other fouling when things start to become a bit difficult or show signs of going awry against him. Al boxers who resort to such tactics are criticized for using them. That includes Holyfield, and Hopkins who used their heads as a third fist.

    Here are some examples:

nobody watches ward, not the casuals and not boxing fans. its quite obvious why yet his PR team and small fan base are still screaming hysterically that he is the greatest. no one cares.

IS this the ward who always has judges, refs and officials onside, got all his supersix fights at home, headbutts, fouls, clinches and add low blows to that, when he feels a small bit under pressure and can basically get away with anything, within some sort of reason and when he loses he wins too, cant stand him

I usually enjoy his fights but I take joy in watching a good technical fighter. But I'm not going to pretend he is an exciting fighter because he isn't.

Some people will take joy in seeing a masterpiece in an art gallery, others will find that boring as hell. Ward will never be a draw, he'll have a small group of niche fans that appreciate what he does but the masses will never understand the beauty of what he does in the ring.

LOL! Perhaps? This could be that Ward that we are speaking of? Or maybe it is the Ward that many (so called) boxing fans hate, and they continually predict, hope and wait for his demise? Then when he wins they come up with all kinds of reasons for his success without giving him any credit? Or perhaps the Ward we are speaking of is in fact both of those Ward's
