considering how good some of these guys are right now, its scary to think what is yet in store for the world of mixed martial arts that is true. I would still take any top mma artist over any top boxer in the world any day of the week :) fk the rules lets just see who the best " fighter " really is throw them all in a ring or cage and have a battle royal! :happy

That's important to pimple-faced 15 year old boys. What matters to most fans is whether or not a sport is exiciting.

Boxing will probably always be more mainstream because straight men can watch it without questioning their sexuality. Really, who wants to watch two hairy, sweaty guys rolling around on a mat? Please don't answer that.

id say mma is more exciting as a whole, boxing is awesome i love it but idiot fans want knock out knock out knock out and if doesnt happen they think its boring. MMA has many more variables to it making it i guess you can say capable of being more exciting than boxing. However when the guys are just rolling around on the ground it can be very fkn boring to anyone that doesnt understand what is really happening. When i first watched mma i thought wtf is that and decided to watch something else lol but when i really got to paying attention to what was really going on it got more and more exciting to watch.

This argument is dumb. The fanbase of MMA is a broad mix, but there are plenty of rednecks, frat boys, and affliction shirt wearing jersey shore frosted tip types that are decidedly homophobic but still watch and enjoy MMA.

Besides, if you honestly can't watch an MMA fight without thinking about gay sex then maybe you're just gay and like thinking about gay sex? All I see is two guys trying to knock each other out or break one another's limbs.

:huh Ummm, so who wins in a sword fight Mike Tyson or an olympic fencing gold medalist? Fencing is simulated sword fighting, or, if you MUST be more particular, it is simulated dueling and dueling was simulated fighting.

    Objective.

I don't mind MMA,but I prefer to watch boxing or wrestling.I like the relative purity of the striking or grappling in these sports.

Does anyone else find it difficult to follow the thread of most MMA matches? There are so many ways to win, that a lot of bouts seem to be won by opportunism-taking sudden advantage of an opponent's mistake. There isn't this ratcheting up of tension so often in boxing.

There is one aspect of the game- ground and pound -that I don't care for.
I liked when fighters could headbutt from a mount(?),but it seems that's been banned from most MMA.
