I like to have fights on a loop in my room, even when I'm not watching them at all. It helps me for some reason to concentrate, the rythym or something. The problem is that it seems no matter what fight I watch any more, I hear a voice. Different fight, different night, same voice. It says, "this is exactly how I saw this fight going."
I think Emmanuel Steward is brilliant. I have seen him make very accurate assesments on a number of occasions, before it takes place. Not only this, but i have no doubt the HBO team would discuss fights at length before they are aired. Do you really think he would come out and say it is what he predicted, if it was entirely untrue? I don't... Lampley and the team would know if he was talking sh*t. Not saying they would pull him up on it, but he would lose respect big time for sure. I have no doubt when he says it, he is being honest. He is a great commentator. You should see the trash we put up with for our PPV in Aus. Then some of you guys might actually appreciate the HBO team. I think overall they are easily the best in boxing.
No. I am lured into a sense of comfort by this voices predictions in the beggining of fights. It makes me feel that the voice would stick by his pick if he were to be wrong. Just as soon as I feel safe though... I have always been like this. Used to be music, then ESPN News, and lately fights.
For some reason watching boxing puts me to sleep at night. Don't know why, because i really enjoy watching it. It just relaxes my mind i think.
for sure. although Larry Merchant eventual depart is going to hurt. kellerman is decent, he has big shoes to fill with Merchant. I think everyone is going to learn to love Kellerman though but its going to have to take a lot of time. Eventually we're going to get used to his questioning style and get used to the way he does things.
No doubt, the commentators we have in Aus are abysmal. I can't stand that fat ass Colonel Bob Sheridan, or even worse the Australian comentators for Mundine fights. I'd much rather have the HBO team, which is why I now watch alot of my fights on Sopcast/TVU.
