Boxing fans since the 80's, how popular was Mike Tyson at his peak?

    Whats there to understand,tyson was not a stable person thru out his boxing career..its that simple!ali had no bizarre attributes to him other than the stances he took,which aren't really bizarre.

    Actually Closed Circuit was around, and Ali/Inoki is remembered, if somewhat infamously. So Ali had his place in PPV's history too, and arguably it was a more significant place than Tyson's.

    Wrestling pro in japan t.v is not boxing!Most people have not even seen that ,how is that even relevant unless you were in japan?Its more significant than the guy who created it here?:-(

    It was shown as CC in the States. Although a bore, it did show there could be a market. It was one of the first big shows that would lead to PPV.

    How does that show lead to ppv?That fight was in the 1980/1982 period....?

    If you go to Ali's Wikipedia site it says that in 1993 the Associated Press did a poll as to who was the most famous athlete of all time and Ali tied with Babe Ruth for first.
