People tend to have more losses in MMA because they're normally fighting the best, and they get put in with elite guys really quickly, whereas boxers don't until 20 bouts at least on average. Fedor has fought most of the heavyweight top 10 at some point.

I am a huge boxing fan but have also become an MMA fan. The sports are very closely linked in spite of what boxing purists try to admit to. Same commissions, judges, cutmen, cross training, cross over attempts of participants in each sport to try thr other, fought in a ring or (cage for some MMA), similar rules. It can't be denied that MMA and boxing are at the very least close cousins.
