Those only work if it's thr SAME FANS saying both, which they most likely aren't. WAAAY too much generalizing here...
Guru...you're only struggling to make weight when in fact, you are struggling to make the weight. His weight gain after doesn't mean he's having a difficult time getting down to 140, which would be a sign of struggling.
Mayweather won a close UD against a Judah that seems to be approaching retirement after he lost to a journeyman while KT easily demolished an undefeated Judah in 2 rounds apples and oranges
Easily demolished doesnt entail being shook to the point that you had to tie your opponent up and hang on for dear life.
OK. I understand the semantics angle. But if youre a 140 pounder putting on 8-10% of your body weight overnight, youre struggling.
As opposed to the older, wiser and mentally tough and prepared one we have today? :rofl Shut up Relentless! Go curse out Wlad in a dark corner or something atsch
When was Zab approaching retirement ? Are u referring to the year he was FORCED to take off ? Hes what 28 he aint ****ing retiring for awhile.
You are really confusing me here. On one hand you are saying that it absolutly killed him to make middleweight and on the other hand you are saying that he was a middleweight. James Toney has plenty of muscle it's just covered in fat so we can't see it but look at the thickness of his arms and ti rivals that of any heavyweight. I am not saying that he is a natural heavy because that he is definatly not but he is not a ablown up middle by any means. Calling him a blown up middle would be like calling Oscar a blown up super feather. They were both able to make that weight when they were very young once upon a time but their bodies naturally grew. I would say that JT is a natural Cruiser even light heavy would be pusshing it at this point.
People who thrashes Margo, but builds up Cintron. People who says that every opponent JC has faced in his career has been downplayed, while saying that Kessler is merely a hype job.
Here is one. Vargas fans who vigorously defend his decision to postpone the fight with Mayorga for health reasons, but who also jump all over V. Klitschko for quitting against Byrd as a result of the shoulder injury and accuse him of ducking Rahman instead of accepting his injuries at face value.
I don't know that I have really seen anyone that fits both parts of your description but if there is anyone out there then yeah I think they'd fit the bill.
It is possible to be drained in the Roy Jones fight and still not be natural heavyweight. Floyd's win over Zab was nothing because Floyd is on another level. But at the same time Cotto and Tzu desrve credit for beating Zab becasue they are a little closer to his level and they needed to prove themselves against a slightly above average fighter with a speed. De La Hoya had more left when fought Floyd than Chavez had left after 100 fights and injuries. and De La Hoya took criticism for the Whitaker fight becasue he did not win it and he was made to look pretty foolish by an older fighter
I don't have the fight time figures and would be interested if you have them but I think a full english breakfast before every fight probably has a lot to do with big weight gains. My point is that he's regularly mentioned in the same sentences as examples like Gatti at 130, Cotto at 140, Corrales at 130, DLH at 130 & 135 etc when there is a clear distinction. For these guys with their big fight time size advantages over opponents it was clearly only a matter of time before they had to eat some food and move up a weight class, whereas Hatton started at 140 and is now 43 fights into his career and still there. He has never had a problem making weight. A 5'6" man with a 65 inch reach is hardly starving himself every fight.
