I started watching mma with the hype but quickly got bored of it. I respect the dedication thta it takes to compete at the highest level but find it boring to watch. The fact that the contender winners can go on to rule certain divisions in the sport shows that its in early development stage.

To me nothing can compete with the mosleys, calzaghes and the mayweathers of the boxing world. The confines of the sweet science make boxing more of a science and a tactical sport, which gives it longevity, and brilliant tactical matches that i would watch from now to eternity and still be awed.

Good vid, I bet half the posters didnt watch it tho.

Cro-cop was awesome at his peak, he only ever lost to the 2 best HWTs MMA had ever seen when he was in his good yrs, Fedor & Nogueira & he gave both a good fight.

That left head kick was absolutely murderous... ouch ! :!:

How can anyone not respect that ****, baffling.

    hmm says...
vitor belfort = one of the strongest and fastest hands... I also wondered myself if he should join boxing. He was one of my favorite ufc fighters back in the day.

Belfort has good hands for MMA, but for a boxer he is average, if he lost 20 pounds he could be amazing.

Just look at his technique,it's arm punching. He's hitting those guys a 100 tmes and they're still standing. Any guys he knocks cold you have to question their chin, like most guys in the MMA. Now then where did i put me specs?

vito is pro boxer, but he cant box.he can throw straight left right.but he cant box.

    chuck cant box
    bj penn cant box
    vitor cant box

anderson silva is the guy he has the best hands in the mma game to me.guys like robby lawler and scott smith jake shields, have good power but there are all brawlers with decent boxing skills.

none of them would become champs, it is what it is.kimbo slice is wack and he want be able to go more then 4 rds maybe 5.

boxer just box,mma does boxing and other **** so they cant foucs on just boxing like a boxer can.so they cant **** with boxers in the ring at the same time a boxer should not get in a cage or an octagon with an mma fight either.

Come on guys, some of those MMA fighters are absolutely good; Fedor and Crocop stand out, but personally I'm not that much into ground fights, too slow for me. However, I feel the most effective, most brutal fighters are or have been in K1; Ernesto "Mr. Perfect" Hoost, Peter Aerts, Remy Bonjaski, Semmy Schildt will crush most MMA fighters easily. Ofcourse K1 carries a lot of idiots as well, (Bob Sapp, Akebono) but no Kimbo slices etcetera.

The Dutch fighters are 1.90+ cm, 110+ kg with speed, power and tactics. But the most lethal weapon by far in their arsenals are the lowkicks, take down the legs and all punching power fades away.

Just don't compare Boxing to MMA/UFC/K1. I personally think that boxing is a artsy sport wherease MMA/UFC/K1 are martial arts. Different rules, different defensive and offensive challenges, different tactics. Just enjoy both!

"He's hitting those guys a 100 tmes and they're still standing" I disagree. He put Wanderlei away quickly. He put Linland away quickly. Belfort would never reach hitting someone 100 times cause they'd be on the floor already. An arm puncher is Nick Diaz, not Vitor Belfort.

The only problem with this thread is you're statement is "boxing fans who think ALL MMA fighters can't throw hands".....and you have video of one example. I'm sure there are planty of MMA fighters who are good strikers, but you're wording indicates that boxing fans think all MMA fighters can't throw hands and you're only bringing one guy to the table (and obviously there are more who can, but the title doesn't suggest that).

Belfort looks to have the wrong build for boxing. If he were to box and train as a boxer I'm guessing he would have to be leaner and maybe fight at 160. There was really nothing in the video to show he has "great hands" in boxing terms.

So he's apparantly 185lbs. If you are comparing one of the best MMA fighters you have to compare him with the best in boxing around that weight.

Are his hands all that "great" compared to Hopkins or Dawson. What about retired Calzaghe or shot Roy Jones Jr?
