In boxing maybe, a boxer wouldn't get out of a first round with any MMA fighter if it were and MMA match.

Several boxing trainers have contacted Penn trying to get him to switch sports claiming they would make him a champ quickly.

The whole MMA are **** boxers and vica versa is a load of bollocks.

Wlad, Vitali, Cintron, Haye, Hatton and many others have backgrounds in other disciplines and with concentrated training could make the transition.

Jackson, Belfort, Arlovski and many others are good boxers who with concentrated training could make the transition.

These guys have the physical and mental talent to fight. With the right training they can make the swap. I have no doubt about this.

Since this thread seems to be full of MMA hate, I'd like to send some boxing's way.

I like boxing almost as much as MMA, but I just watched two top prospects put in with sacrificial lambs. At least in MMA we get competitive fights. Should that last HBO fight have been sanctioned? I mean, the loser landed one power punch. One. And the HBO idiots just suck these prospects off. "These guys could beat Pavlik because they just opened up this tomato can and made soup!"

I'm sick of all these squash fights. These guys have to fight 20 times before they get put in with a live body most of the time because one loss gets you put in the "exposed" category according to most boxing fans.

Andrei Arlovski has pretty good hands... Then again, he is trained by Freddie Roach...

    WHAT?

    Are you referring to boxing?

Belfort regardless of his weight would get splattered by the smaller, shorter Mayweather, and it would end in embarassing fashion.

    Dont be stupid.

Belfort cant box, he can punch. And these types of fighters dont do well in boxing.

UFC 95 had 7 fights end in the 1st round. 6 of them were via KO.

You watch the Fight for the Troops card? Cantwell was fed some karate bum with no striking, no grappling skills and was subbed almost immediately when on the ground. They gave Ben Saunders some military guy who cant fight. Than they gave Swick a journeymen in Goulet.

MMA does the exact same thing, but the nature of the sport makes it look alot more competitive than boxing. But in reality its not. Its just the same.

Bull****. If that were true there would undoubtedly be more 20-0 and 30-0 fighters in MMA.
