    And Geraldo Rivera, Anderson Cooper were never in the military, and yet they are war correspondents. It's an outsider perspective. Commenting from the outside looking in is a lot different that commenting as someone that has been on the inside.

    I'm not saying that one has to fight to know boxing, but to really appreciate what a fighter does, how hard he trains, what the fighter is going through, and/or what goes through a fighter's head, it helps to have actually laced them up.
