nah, he was innocent....that's why he got off. a lotta innocent people in jail...he just got lucky somebody fought for him... as for the fight, it was very close..giardello wasn't known for his aggression either.
I watched a lot of westerns when I was growing up so I have a fondness for them, particularly spaghetti westerns and especially Sergio Leone ones. Leone, prime Clint Eastwood and Ennio Morricone aka the golden trinity. Pretty hard to top that. Add the likes of Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef and Gian Maria Volonté to the mix and you have perfection. Magic. This scene couldn't be any cooler if a snarling prime Roberto Duran with his thick black mane, black devil eyes and beard and Marvin Hagler donning his red war cap were in it. The trailer all alone was enough for me to pass on this movie. It's sad because Jake is one of my favorite actors ever.
When you watch boxing for real its hard to watch the movie, jake is a good actor but I can't take him serious as a boxer.
