:good I really liked Absolute Power as well. There's nothing I don't love about The Beguiled and Misty, everything down to the amazing atmosphere and locations which aid the ambience of both films greatly. I've wanted to live in Monterrey since I was a kid because of Paly Misty For Me.
It's been that long or longer since I've seen many of them myself. I have very fond memories of watching all the Fistful of Dollars films from back then though. I love the soundtracks too. Josey Wales is really good from what I recall of it.
It was utter poison one of the worst boxing movies i have ever seen but there are a couple Rachel McAdams scenes that made it worthwhile. I want to make her my wife.
I didn't even know they made a remake of it. I remember hiring the original out on VHS from the video store when I was in my teens. There was a group of about four of us and I distinctly remember feeling genuinely scared about the fact we were going to watch it for the first time as we were making our way back from the store. I mean like really scared.
:hey Great White Hype is funny... sad it's so similar to Wilder's career... as the Black Champions team watches footage of White Dopes getting KTFO as they look for more bums for their "Champion" to feast on... lol I bought the DVD for $3 dollars at Hastings! It makes both races out to be very tribal and racist to their core but in a funny way!! :yep
btw... the former Soviet Bloc domination of the Heavyweight division did not start until about 3 or 4 years after that movie came out in 1996... :hey
Enjoyable film that did an excellent job at highlighting the nature of the business of boxing i.e - Manipulation, deception, greed, corruption.
:yep things Wilders Team went to college to get a Masters Degree in!! All are PhD's in those subjects!!!
the jack Johnson (aka Jefferson for some reason!) one was good starring the guy who did Darth Vaders voice. no actual boxing in it though, more about the politics of it around Jacks time.
The trailer was enough to make me think it wouldn't be any good. I think Creed looks much better I thought the fighter was pretty good and stuck to the book Irish thunder very well, the book is very good. It changed the chronology on a few things and did a few things with his brother that weren't in the book, doesn't mean though that they didn't happen Only thing I didnt like was how they portrayed the wbu as a serious title at the end
