atsch Another conspiracy theorist.. Fighters gas and fighters quit. It's not the first time and it won't bee the last.
lol OP is a ****** if he thinks the "fix was in" but obv trolling away. Here is another bite, congrats :thumbsup
Broken left wrist is what they seemed to be claiming he had it iced up after the fight, but his trainer looked pretty upset with him quitting so it might just have been an excuse
i`m sure a lot of boxing is fixed but more in the way that circumstances are created which makes it hard for a fighter to win rather than boxers taking dives. fcuk me if snookers no.1 gets done for match fixing, boxing with the plethora of gangsters n shadey promoters involvement its gotta be a certainty..
I watched the fight drunk so my POV may be skewed, but Gonzalez was absolutely bossing the fight until the 7th (I think) and Burns clocked him big-time. The same way Froch clocked Taylor in the 12th and commentators said Taylor was 'gassed' all of a sudden, ignoring the fact he took a monster right hand and really should have took a knee. My instinct is Gonzalez either seriously injured himself, or Burns hit him so sweet he couldn't recover.
I'll say this: the odds for Gonzales by decision were between 15.0 and 24.0. Those are like draw odds. Immediately jumped out at me as a good buy after having seen Gonzalez' boxing ability and Burns being troubled by Martinez and Mitchell in spots. I put a small amount on it but I was extremely suspicious something was up. Put most of my money on "not Burns inside the distance" and felt pretty safe about that. About **** myself when Gonzalez quit. I thought he was just taking the 8th and 9th off to have a rally down the stretch.
Conspiracy theory bull****, Gonzalez showed more than enough yesterday night to make me believe he can pick up a belt at some point down the road, the 7th round took a hell of a lot out of him and ultimately Burns was able to put his foot on the gas and force the issue. If he had not have quit i think Burns would have got to him in the next few rounds as he could barely move his legs anymore let alone punch with his left hand. Gonzalez knew what was up so quit as to avoid unnecessary punishment so he can live to fight another day.
