    Hi!

I am looking for some advice on boxing gloves & the weight I should use. I am a petite female (5ft 2) weigh around 9st 8oz & am a beginner.
I have bought myself an Everlast heavy bag to start training with in my garage but have found conflicting advice online about which weight of glove I should use. Some say 8oz others state 12oz. It is solely heavy bag training. I will not be sparring or competing. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

I use 14 oz's to do heavy bag training, sometimes 16 oz's. They're heavy but the #1 thing about training is protection. Whoever is telling you 8oz is crazy, you're going to damage your hands that way.

Winning Gloves are the best, they're so comfy and great for training because they protect your hands so well. Expensive though, at least 300 USD per pair.

I think Rival is a very good brand, Grant is good. I got my 14 oz's for like $80 CAD a few years ago

12's are fine for heavy bag only.

Good 16 oz. training gloves are the ringside masters competition gloves.
