Just wondering if anyone knew something about the print on the gloves... As you know when a fighter wears Everlast, Reyes or whatever into the ring they have the logo on them...

In the lead up to the Katsidis/Diaz fight there was a dispute about what gloves where to be used... Diaz is signed to Everlast while Katsidis isnt signed to anyone but wanted Reyes Gloves...

Michael eventually won and got his Reyes gloves but in the fight his gloves had no print on them at all ... Was this because Everlast didnt want another brand to be shown next to Everlast? Can fighters get those logos removed when they have to then?

Good question. Ricky Hatton had a similar situation where he had to put the sticker on top of the other brand of his gloves.

All gloves aren't the same. Diaz's people pull this **** before every fight! Nobody wants to wear those ****in Evercrap gloves. Evercrap doesn't pay the other fighter so he wears what he wants to wear. Grant is too pillowy for some guys. Punchers like Reyes.(so I don't know why Katsidis wore them) and no one is allowed to alter the gloves. If they are altered the commission will make you use your backup pair. Title is usually seen in sparring. I don't know much about any others.

Amen to that, Evercrap is a good way to put it. I ****ing hate those gloves. It irritates me just to watch a pro using them on TV.

everlast or like i say Neverlas sucks man like the other person says it pains me also to see Pros with those gloves. Reyes are for Punchers like most know. Some prefer Grant or Winning which takes care of those with brittle hands. I guess its in their contract which gloves they use.

Sorry about that. I got carried away with the Evercrap. Kat's people must've agreed to remove it because of Diaz's contractual obligations.

Too much emphasis nowadays on logos etc...

It doesn't take a great deal of a problem to have a set of Everlasts for example supplied with no logo for a major championship fight because the fighters sponsors object to any other advertising being endorsed,, Ricky Hatton is subjected to Lonsdale equipment , but if the nevada state athletic commission wanted either say (Grant or Reyes) used for this specific championship bout , its a simple request for the select gloves to appear plain.. They are always available, I have a pair of Yellow reyes , they have only logos on wrist , unlike most that have logo on knuckle back.. They are a recent pair too........
