Boxing Gossip goes bezerk! Rant - The GGG fans turn me to a Gennady Golovkin hater

There is clearly a deeper more sinister motive at play concerning all this micromanaging and hyperbole concerning GGG.

 

Essentially you're not disagreeing with what im saying. Matthysse was considered an unstoppable KO machine before he stepped up his competition and struggled and lost to Judah/Alexander and beaten clear by Garcia. Khan finished Judah in 6 right after Lucas fought him, does Khan hit harder than Lucas? Of course not. it just shows you need more than power to get stoppages against guys with world class skillsets.

Im not disputing Stevens/Rubio had power, they just didn't have the other attributes to make that power count. The most you could ever give this level of opponent against GGG is a punchers chance.

 

Yeah, HW division has been top notch for all of Wilder's career. What?

And HW has also been dominated by a fighter who most consider p4p#2/3 for all of Wilders career

 

Yes, Golovkin has his fanboys, I've got to say as much of a fan as I am of GGG, he's definitely one of the most overrated and overhyped fighters I've seen, I mean to compare Golovkin to legends like Hagler, Monzon, Sugar Ray Robinson is blasphemy, there shouldn't even be a discussion on who beats who or whatever until Golovkin has fought much better opponents and even then he most likely will never compare to them.

Abel Sanchez, I understand he's the trainer and it's in his best interests to hype Golovkin up but some of the things he said were almost insulting to the history and the legends of the sport.

At the same time however, he does have a big number of irrational haters who at every turn will try to discredit or demand the unreasonable of him.

 

Hating a fighter or rating them less of an effective fighter because of said fighters fans is an odd way to think.

This is the problem with this site. Because of certain posters views on a particular fighter (good or bad), this winds up other posters, and instead of making a judgement on a certain boxer based on objective ****ysis on that boxers skills and accomplishments, certain posters bring into their judgement a biasedness based on a dislike of that particular boxers fans.

It is an incredibly stupid way to judge a fighter.

If a particular fighters fans are annoying you then just log off and enjoy watching that fighter. Base your opinion on facts and your own interpretation on a particular fighters skills and attributes and not on some childish antagonistic view of someone on here who you don't like.

But thats not what this was about. Wasn't this regarding whether GGG has tasted power before? Which he has, Stevens has always been considered a KO type fighter. He's not elite, but his power is just as good as anyones. Same with Rubio, except he is more of a pressure fighter. Yes he hasn't faced the elite, but there is no way that too argue that Quillen and Lee's power is going to phase Golovkin any worse that Rubio's or Stevens.

 

This is because when someone is overhyped some people will point out why that person is overhyped and will then give their own view on where this person stands in the grand scheme of things.

However, there are others who, for whatever reasons, can't be objective and because people are overhyping someone, they will fly in the complete opposite direction and massively underrate the person in question.

This is a trait that is often found in children, but increasingly more adults seem prone to this stupid and pathetic idiosyncrasy.

This peculiarity is found in abundance on internet forums like this one.

 

I'm just gonna say.. if you judge a fighter by his fans.. you are a ****ing idiot.

If you can't enjoy GGG for what he does in the ring.. maybe you should find a new sport to follow, because this one isn't for you.

Go watch some more reality TV and find your drama elsewhere.. this **** is boxing.. not Real World.

 

I would never let what other people say or think about a fighter make me hate a fighter. That's ridiculous. What do GGG's fans have to do with my opinion of GGG?
