The problem with that is that you might as well just have one judge then, since each camp is going to pick a judge that favors their own fighter. I agree with torturing the crooked judges though, so far that seems like it would be the most affective.
That's why the third judge is picked by the sanctioning commission. Besides, just because you choose a judge doesn't mean they'll score it for you. And it's not like they'd be informed they were chosen by a certain camp.....All this assures is that it eliminates all these "judges got paid" excuse everytime their fighter loses a close decision. It's simple isn't it? It's a system of checks and balances, three judges selected from three different parties should all but assure the right decision is made.
I see your point but I dont think the camps should have anything to do with it. Its a conflict of interest. And yeah, just because you pick a judge does not mean that the judge will score it for them, but they will be sure to pick judges that favor their fighters style. It should be someone neutral that has nothing to gain from a certain fighter winning. But then again I guess anyone can be bought off for the right price. By the way, doesn't the sanctioning commission appoint the judges already? And the current ones are obviously being bought off
The major issue is these judges are PAID....by whoever in each case. Until judges are willing to not even accept hotel rooms, fancy meals, etc..etc, not to mention money....this trend will continue.
No, it doesn't. Take Bob Arum, for instance. He can afford to pay off everyone involved, including all commissioners, sanctioning bodies, local authorities, etc. Same goes for the mob. Money talks, and nothing will ever change that.
True. There needs to be an outside group that monitors this kind of ****. When there is this much money involved, there is going to be some shady **** going on.
A good idea would be to have no ringside judges just judges in the stadium infront of tvs and see it like we see it or this idea it's a wild one lol ..... What about no round by round watch the whole fight and pick a winner? Too hard to remember what happened in the beginning? Break the fight into quarters and say who won each quarter? I told you it was a wild one!
It's true that there are bad results at times. But there was nothing wrong with last night's scores. I had it 7-4 for Ward with one even. Depending on who I gave the 'even' round to, the scores would range from 116-112 to 115-113 in favour of Ward. Right in the mix of what the judges had. The right guy won. Fairly. All's good
Anybody who had Froch up 4-1 after 5 is nothing short of a ****ing idiot (or somebody currently enjoying an all-expenses-paid vacation courtesy of Froch's promoter).
