Boxing has some really crappy title holders right now

Taylor and K-9 aren't strong titlists by any measure, but man, I still have to give them more props than guys like Bey and Peterson who shouldn't even have belts right now. At least Taylor and K-9 legitimately won their straps in the ring, and for that, I give them due credit.

Bey and Peterson are weak champs that can't even say that they deserve their titles.

 

From Middleweight on up, the talent is very poor.

The lower weights currently has all the real talent.

 

No matter what division all 4 Champs aren't going to be top tier but most of the time 3/4 of them are in the top 5 of there division. At MW it's only 3 Champs Cotto(WBC)/GGG(WBA)/Taylor(IBF), Cotto & GGG both are in the top 5 at MW(really#1&2).
At JMW its 3/4 Champs Mayweather(WBA/WBC)/Andrade(WBO)/K9(IBF)
Mayweather & Andrade are both top 4/5 JMW.

 

Cotto wouldn't even beat Taylor, def aint top 2 lucky to be top10.

 

All three, Cotto, Taylor and GGG are there simply because the MW division is as weak as hell.

When you have a stupid amount of belts available what do you expect it's obvious that the standard required to become a champion will drop

 

The IBF strap has become a joke. Taylor, Bey, Peterson, and K9 are poor ****ing champions.

 

The problem is all the new prospects are being held back and like GGG are being allowed to face sub-par opposition to build up records and wait for the big payday.
There are many great prospect out there but how good they are we don't know because they are only being matched with less than competitive opposition.

Seriously? The lower weight classes are as entertaining (and often times more entertaining) to watch.

130 and on down are great.

135 and up is hit and miss with probably an average of 1 of every 4 titlists being highly awkward or not in the top 5.
