Mosley IQ is going down by the beatings he is taking recently. I would rate Hatton from the Pac match with an F. From the current boxers Floyd should have the best IQ even if I don't buy the **** that he is not watching the previous fights of his opponents. JMM proved that he can adapt in the two Pac fights, Diaz fight and hell even from the Floyd fight where he manged to survive.

Calzaghe is good at adapting mid way through a fight...i think he should be up there.

Marquez showed immense heart to survive the first round against Pac the first time, he wasn't adapting, he just got up and fought the same but more effectively. Against Diaz as well, i don't see what the adaptation was, Juan kept coming forward and unloading and before long the brilliant combos of Marquez found their mark. Just because you are losing and then start winning doesn't mean you have adapted, you can't analyze adaptation that way, you just have to assess the footage, that's the only way. To say that Marquez showed adaptability against Mayweather is embarrassing, he stood there and got schooled.

From what I remember from the Diaz fight he made adjustments by finding the uppercut and started trowing even triple uppercuts at some point. He also made some good defensive adjustments so he was generally less hit at the end of the fight.

It was hardly an adaptation of his fighting style though. I'd have to rewatch but even if he started throwing an uppercut, it's not a great mark of variation imo.

Hopkins: A + Clearly, he has the highest ring IQ he knows every aspect of the game.

Mayweather: A, much like Hopkins he has a variety of tools available. Relies on his natural gift more than B-Hop does though.

PacMan: B Pac follows a strategy well enough, but he's not as good at switching it up. A good chunk of his success is how great he is physically.

Mosley: C- His ring intelligence actually sucks. As mentioned earlier, he can jump in with a quick flurry, but can not adjust. He relied totally on his physical gifts.

Wlad Klitschko: C While he is an effective fighter, his ring IQ sucks. He can't use angles, or adjust. He fights at one pace. Has three punches all thrown from the exact same angle. If things don't go his way, he is clueless. He has one all purpose contingency plan (which is one more contingency plan than Mosley has)...HOLD. It works because he's so big and strong.

Paul Williams: C- Much like Mosley and Wlad, here is a guy that does one thing well. Williams is long and he fights at a high pace. It works really well, but he has no plan b. Poor ring IQ.

Vitali Klitschko: B- Much like his brother, his physicality is what makes him tough to fight, but unlike his brother, Vitali actually figures out his opponent a bit. He adjusts the arc of his punches accordingly as the fight wears on. He also adjusts the level/pace of his attack.

De La Hoya should get a D....he never ever changes a gameplan to win. he does what ever he is told. Without a good trainer he sucks at top level.

Yeah... Oscar was funny. He had all the tools, but sometimes just did not use them correctly.
