Boxing Highest and Lowest ring IQ's

I'd have given Oscar a C. That's coming from a Oscar nuthugger. Mosley deserves a D. That too coming from a Mosley nuthugger.

 

Well i didn't thnik he did much adapting against Casa, Casa started to fancy himself in close and started to hang around too much throwing combos, and JMM is always going to win that kind of fight. Casa was the adaptable one. Anyway, the point is that Marquez in the grand scheme of things, spread out over his career, does not have a great ring IQ. And on the Mayweather point, i wasn't questioning any of that which you just mentioned, nor disagreeing with it, i was simply stating that he didn't show any variation on that fight, which was claimed earlier on this thread.

Donaire should rate pretty highly I think (B or B+ maybe). the guy clearly knows what he's doing.

 

The new master ring IQ on the block is andre ward. You can see this guy adapt to every opponent he has fought. Id rate him as a solid B+

 

I think Vitali and Barrera should rate alittle higher. Not on Floyd's or Bhops level, but maybe just below it. I think Barrera was alittle smarter than JMM, before the Pacman fight and after he beat Hamed Barrera had a beautiful pot shotting jab similar to Floyds he'd use moving back, forward, and that version of Barrera was the best. If Marquez focused more on speed and defense, he'd be on Barrera's level. That doesn't mean Barrera was a better fighter, but seemed he was more versatile and adapted better.

 

Floyd is A++ he adjusts well in the fight. But he calculates the fighters he fights before even fighting them. If he thinks he aint' gonna win he retires/goes on vacation. No one is smarter than Floyd!!!

 

I agree that Floyd and Hopkins is A+. Andre Ward, is about to step into that elite class if he can beat Dirrell. Tim Bradley has a high boxing I. Q. too.

 

Highest...Marquez, Mayweather and Hopkins (in alphabetical order).

Lowest...Maidana, etc.

 

Zab Judah probably has the lowest ring IQ of any active top fighters.
Tho he isn't a top fighter anymore.

 

Mosley isn't, JMM can mix up what he does though

Hatton is reasonably smart otherwise he wouldnt have beat Tyszu, hes just limited

Gatti is possibly 1 of the worst for Ring IQs, Joe Louis wasn't very smart either

 

Like i said PP already about JMM, my opinion can't be swayed man.
