JMM's adjustment are much more visible and drastic once engaged than most of Floyd's, so his IQ is pretty high. Mosley has a hard time adapting but he isn't terrible if you consider more than the last five years of his career; he showed smarts against DLH the first time around walking him into traps.

When facing a tricky style he didn't seem to be able to adjust and usually needed a rematch to figure it out. Take the Goddoy, Walcott, Schmelling and Conn fights for example. He was also said to have learning difficulties

Mosley does NOT have a high ring IQ, and never did. I wouldnt say he's a dumb fighter, but he's never been amongst the most intelligent. Same thing with Oscar. Not a dumb fighter, but not a very bright one either. And the same could be said for a guy like Cotto.

Highest ring IQ's of this era are Hopkins, Jones, Mayweather, and Marquez. Though Hopkins & Roy dont have enough OUTSIDE the ring IQ to know when to retire.... and Floyd is a complete dumbass outside the ring. And much as I HATED him... I'd say that Calzaghe had a pretty high ring IQ as well, which is the biggest compliment Ive ever given him.

Lowest ring IQ on top fighters goes to Jermain Taylor, Andre Berto, and Juan Diaz. Kelly Pavlik aint too bright in the ring either, but he's not as dumb as Taylor, Berto, and Diaz.

Dumbest fighters OVERALL and perhaps in history are Edison Miranda, Jeff Lacy, and Antwun Echols. These three are just complete and utter tards in the ring, and only got to contender/belt holder status based on thier power.

Pacquaio may have a bit of a low ring IQ imo and looked pretty clueless against Marquez

Of the four.... Martinez has the highest ring IQ. Bradley is above average, but not execptionally bright.

Manny's ring IQ has improved over the years due to Roach, but Manny has always been more of a natural talent rather then a thinker.

Khan is a dumbass, and Roach makes him passable, but he's still not a very bright fighter. And its no surprise, cause he's a mildly ******ed human being.

Put it this way.... I think Froch has a higher ring IQ then Khan, and I mean that in all honesty.

Yeah Campbell was a pretty dumb figher.

I forgot to mention Sam Peter. Peter might be THE dumbest of all time. He's neck and neck with Miranda, and Lacy.

Putting Juan Manuel Marquez in the same context as Hopkins in this discussion is criminal

Ok. Marquez isnt on the same level as Hopkins, or Mayweather intelligence wise... but his ring IQ is still an A. Hop and Floyd get an A+.

But back to low IQ's.... Paul Williams has a very low ring IQ. Actually probably has a pretty low IQ in general.

Obviously, pressure fighters are going to get penalized here but it's a little unfair to give Hatton a D and Mosley a B+.

Thanks for explaining your scoring system but I think you're penalizing pressure fighters and counterpunchers far too much.

Yeah I think it is a bit harsh looking at it again , I just think some of the pressure fighters run into the same punch again and again and dont adapt, and I think I scored Mosley a little too high Maybe a C+, afterall he has only been beaten by the best in the divsion , but wasnt stopped. Hatton though does annoy me as it is clear if you are going to come forward, then dont come in on a straight line with your hands constantly dropping down.

    damn good thread......:good

I think Pac's IQ is closer to a B-....i think Roach makes Pac look a lot better than he is.....and im not knocking Pac but Roach gives him a damn good plan and Manny excutes flawlessly.

Cal was a beast i gotta give him at least an A.....knocked down early then goes on to dominate in two different matches....adjusts great in fights

Floyd A the man can do it it all but like Cal i think they also have help with their abilities or physical atrributes that some just arent blessed with

B-Hop A+ he doesnt have the blazing speed or great reflexes those natural abilities people would love to have.....can make anyone fight an ugly fight and frustrates the shyt out of fighters, real old school kind of guy.
