Loved the Sullivan-Ryan accounts that you posted a few days back, are there any more first hand accounts of Sullivan from people that lived to see Johnson, Dempsey, Tunney, Louis?
Might have been posted on this forum already, I'm not sure, but there was a series of write-ups by Jimmy De Forest, starting from https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn84026749/1923-10-23/ed-1/seq-22/ published daily (except on Sundays) till Nov 19, just look for the sporting pages, I think he did a little bit of comparison, from Sullivan to Dempsey.

There was a book titled "New ideas of boxing" by Corbett, published in late 1894 or early 1895, but unfortunately I never found anything except very short excerpts from it - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-page13166063 (funny enough, there's a cable declaring John L. Sullivan dead from heart attack, they corrected themselves that it was fake news only two weeks later).
