Are any of you boxing nuts ****ign exhausted after two days of trying to tell people that Danny Green is not as big as Don KING. That Danny Green is not even a blip on the radar in the world boxing scene. That all the other champs are "avoiding" Green because of his power. I ****ing hate this and it happens every time MY favourite sport gets publicity. Everyone becomes an expert. I am still riled up after the Green v Jones fight that everyone outside the boxing world claims that win makes Green a legit Half of Famer. I am sick of Parramatta fans sayign how hard Danny Green trains and thats why he is the best in the world. I want to slap them in the face and tell them the 100th ranked fighter in most classes would probably train just as hard if he is a full time professional. I am tired of everyone ion my OFFICE - ( SPORTS RELATED OFFICE THESE DAYS) who know nothing of the sport telling me Briggs is a well known coward and that they knew this was a fix. I try and explain that 24 rounds with Tomasz Adamek in his prime kinda rules out the coward theory - and they say Adamek is a nobody they never heard of him. I am not defending Briggs in anyway. All i keep saying is that it doesnt take a calculator to work out that betting on a man in his absolute prime knocking out a very unwell individual in the first round is not a fix. It may turn out to be - but betting on a punching machine with absolute power knocking out an untrained out of shape athlete in the first round does happen. When someone gets a stock "tip" it causes a plunge. There were enough tips about a very unfit Briggs to suggest the plunge might happen. There is more but i am tired of ranting already
Dont worry mate, i dont waste my time talking boxing to most who dont have a clue. Learnt the hard way how brainwashed people are to thinking Danny Green is the centre of the boxing universe.
Agree.... Im not claimin im an expert there is many on this forum who know alot more then i do... But i do know enough to know the truth about where Green, Mundine really stand on the world scene.... It's like bangin ya head against a brick wall talkin to most of my mates. I just try doin what Kegsy does and just try find people who know more or at least as much as i do to talk boxing.
If a guy getting counted out from a range-finding jab that hits the top of the forehead and brushes over and the bookmakers citing unprecedented betting anomalies doesn't convince you a fight was a fix I cant imagine what it would take? I think the man on the street might be right on this occasion. He's not handicapped with a desire to believe.
I hope for the sake of Paul Briggs and his credibility and his future that he has fallen foul of ill health and his integrity is intact. Hope is a strong word mate
