Where can someone interested in getting some recent matches find them... download, burn to disc, etc.
Boxingvideosonline usually has all the recent fights that people have missed, as well as older fights that are requested.
The best site is www.worldboxingvideoarchives.com--- It is a torrent site where you can download full fights from almost every era. Brilliant site, and a must if you are a true boxing fan. Far better site then boxingvideosonline, although that is still decent also.
Thanks MSTR, I appreciate this. I'm trying to get some videos that my supplier I buy from here doesn't have (or has but with some rounds missing).
The site has stuff in full dvd quality, and is constantly updated also. If they don't have something which is rare, you can even request it. I remember when Robbie Peden was supposed to be fighting Alex Arthur, i was actually asked by a guy within his promotional team to find some footage for them. Even guys at that level sometimes use this site. As long as you are familiar with torrent programs you should be fine. UTorrent or Azerus are the easiest ones from memory. I personally use UTorrent. There are instructions and help on the site if you are stuck. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if the address is www.worldboxingvideoarchive.com though... I think it might be without the s on the end of archives... I will see when i get home!!
I've just created an account on this site, but am having problems. Could someone possibly help? Firstly, what is a torrent exactly? I have limited cap (3gb) - are the torrents compressed, because some are already over 3gb. I tried saving one of the smaller files, and it does not seem to want to work. I tried "save as" but nothing happens. All I get is a tiny file on my PC. Any help is appreciated. PS-drop the 's' in "archives"...www.worldboxingvideoarchive.com
These issues, along with the fact that its better to have someone to ask about different fights, are the reason its preferable to order DVDs. Seems a cool site though, for picking up an odd one or two fights here and there though.
You can't compress avi's or dvd's because they are already compressed. Torrent's only contain information about where to down- and upload the file. Use a torrent program (i recommend Utorrent but Azareus is fine too) to open it, then open the torrent with that program and start download. Make sure you download as much data as you upload, or you'll eventually get in trouble with their policy.
Mate i have downloaded literally hundreds of fights off this site, and it costs me nothing. New fights are there literally HOURS after being aired live. The site is an unbelievable resource, you just need to take the time to familiarize yourself with torrents. Torrents are also used to download compressed movies and music albums also, so it is something that is definitely worth knowing about. Like i said earlier guys, all the information that you need is located in the help section. They have MASSIVE archives of classic fights as well which i am sure you guys would enjoy, and it could potentially save you thousands of dollars. Don't give up so easily, it shouldn't take you long to work it out, just read the help section. You can usually get most fights in about half a gig in size, which is pretty reasonable.
I will check it out more thouroughly. Personally, I like to support small businesses like fight collectors who put a lot of time into their collection and help out with getting you the best available footage. Its money well spent to me. With the footage I can't get though through a live dealer, I will check out this site. Thanks MSTR.
Thanks for the info Chris. As great as this site looks, the files are probably too large for me to download. Ah crap.
