Anyone have any boxers in their family tree?? My grandpa was a golden gloves champion before he went in the navy back in the 40's. He was a huge boxing fan, so when I was going through his stuff I found about 200 VHS tapes of tons of 80's and 90's fights. I guess my uncle had a black box and recorded them all for him whether he was there or not. Anyone have a similar story or relatives who achieved anything boxing?
Both of my grandfather and uncle are amateurs. Although they didn't really participate professionally, they had boxing gloves and punchbags in their house.
Only my father and I are avid boxing fans. BTW zangetso, your avatar is the best thing i've seen in a long time
He wasn't a famous guy, won the golden gloves one year, I should ask my g-ma for the trophy. Donald Ressell.
My grandfather was a Golden Gloves champ as well in the state of California. My pops is just a fan of the sport, but taught me the basics when I was a wee kid passed on from his old man. Boxing is in my family no question.
Whats funny is I wasn't big into boxing before my G-pa died (94) I was only 12 when he died so I feel bad now that I am really big into it and he had no idea. Seriously, my grandma is sitting on a gold mine of VHS tapes of fights... Bowe-golotas, DLH's, Lennox, Tyson All kinds of PPV fights for years.
Thanks, her name Lin Ketong (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lin-Ketong-lin-ke-tong/313586699361) Her face is doll-like. Flawless beauty.
Don't have anything like that. My dad boxed through his school, but everytime he stepped up the competition level he got whooped. So he became a top level runner instead.
Grand dad boxed in the navy a little. Dad boxed in jail a little. I think he did a little boxing to get there, too.
No only me and my dad are boxing fans. I have military in my blood as three of my granpas were in the service but I'm not sure about their names. Maybe they did boxing who knows. One things for sure I'm starting it in my family and wouldn't mind teaching my nephew a thing or two. If he wants to take up boxing after my career I'll gladly pass the torch. I'm an amateur hopeful wishing to compete soon wish me luck!
My grandad was a good amateur, winning many domestic amateur titles. My dad did a bit but he was a rugby prodigy. Me, i was fat and useless at all sport.
