    i have none.

i did 3 rounds of blocks and parrys with a 14stone polish guy, im under 11 stone and almost shat myself.

i had no gum shield and no head guard on, he had a gum shield in.

i had to keep circuling him and throwing jabs now and again, to try and get away from his one two, whoch he caught me with quite often.

i pussied out after 3 rounds and went to hit the bag in the corner.

its been bugging me all week,i feel better now ive opened up.

(by the way ive been going boxing 3 months on and off)

you gotta give it time. The nerves and "fear" will go away the more you spar and feel comfortable. It will also help a lot if you flinch a lot and look away once you are going to get hit.

As long as you keep going and your coach isnt throwing you in with the wolves and your sparring partners help you get better, you will be fine.

How old are you. What was his wieght/ht and yours. Not in stone/meters pls, I don't feel like digging up a conversion table.

You lasted 3 rounds, fearing for your teeth and lips, not to mention your skull.

First time sparring? Not so bad, especially vs a guy MUCH larger than you.

Stick with it, and find someone your own size.

One thing that really helped me was my coach would have me spar rounds where we only could use the jab and defending it when i first started. Couple weeks later we could only throw straight punches (1,2s), once i felt more comfortable we could start with hooks, week after that throw uppercuts etc etc. it was like that till we were sparring throwing everything we learned.

I felt it help because i would always tense up during sparring this way after all those weeks i felt very relaxed and everything fell into place.

dont bulk up, first time i sparred i threw very liitle aswell but luckily i have a good defence and great reflexes 30-40% above average person's (Lab experiment). just improve your defence and punches will start to flow, bulking up might slow you down, might make you stronger but not a better boxer

Boxing is probably the hardest sport in the world.

But what you put in, you will get out. So keep at it and don't get discouraged, its hard for everyone at first.

    He was helping you.

Rome wasn't built in one day. It's gonna take time.
The more you work, the better confidence you'll get and the more comfortable you'll be in there. It will feel like no time and you'll be talking about some faster lighter fighter giving you problems. :smoke:good

It's a case of mind over matter...

If you don't mind, then it don't matter.

That saying always used to help me when I was feeling afraid.
