Is that why Kelly Pavlik, Mikkel Kessler and Glen Johnson all turned down $500k to $1.7 million dollar pay days to fight against Lucien Bute while the top dog in UFC only earns $500k?

There is more money, more worldwide support and more respect for boxing period. America just doesn't like the current boxing scene because the weights they identify with the most (MW, LHW and HW) are being dominated predominately by european fighters.

The ignore tool is your friend. And wish I could force those I put on mine to put me on there's, but that wouldn't work for them because they enjoy trolling and a part of trolling is flame wars. They need us we don't need them.

    I live in Milwaukee....
Recently there was a UFC event and they couldn't crack over 7000 tickets sold. That's pretty sad. All of the money that was put into advertising the event in the downtown area and surrounding suburbs..... couldn't even put 7000 people in the stands.
Hell, WWE can crack 18,000 at the Bradley Center.

ive said it before...boxing is a sport.
the UFC is a company that fights under the sport of MMA

if you took WBC and only had 10 fighters from each weight class allowed to be an active "employee" and took out 6 of the weight classes ... you would ultimatley have the UFC of boxing...same guys fighting each other over and over...(kind of like the wbc does now) , they would self promote and the bossman would keep all the money because everyone is under some kind of set contract...

but i see your point.....but that doesnt make boxing much fun either when a guy can stay in his home country defending 1 of 5 belts against horse**** while banking it ... instead of risking anything and fighting a guy that has a chance... its all biz now,,,gone are the days of proving whos the best...ask felix sturm..poster boy for that

That was one of the mini UFC events live on free tv, not even remotely the same thing as a full event.

And believe me, most American boxing title holders and notable fighters would kill for 7,000 in attendance for one of their fights.

Don't kid yourself. UFC attendance, PPV and overall popularity far outstrips boxing in the states. Period.

There things the UFC do well that boxing could look at copying. That's one of the advantages of having come along second.

    You're wrong.
If they knew they would only have had that turn out they never would have leased the Bradley Center. They reserve all of those seats and they couldn't even fill 7,000. There are smaller venues in Milwaukee if they knew in advance that they could never hit the full capacity of the Bradley Center.

So don't kid yourself. You rent a place that outstrips the interest in your event and you're losing money.
