I just called 3 major sports bars here in the 4th largest city in the US and none of them are showing the Pavlik-Hopkins fight.:-( It really shows you how low our great sport has sunk here in the US. This is a major fight and I can't believe places like Fox Sports Bar and Grill aren't showing it. But what pisses me off even more is when I called they automatically assumed I was talking about a MMA event which pissed me off even more.:fire
Of course it's dead Alonzo when you'r corrupt asss supports runners as p4p the best in the world and when ''the world awaits'' more than 12 rounds. P.S.:**** Cory Spinks-he lost to Mayorga
It disgusts me that the "Average Joe" follows gay baseball and gayer NFL and MMA manfeet wars, and they have no interest in boxing.
The last time I went to a sports bar I saw PBF-Hatton and the place was packed. It sucks that I won't be able to watch Pavlik-Hopkins until next week. BTW PBF has nothing to do with it. It's the corrupt promoters always looking to put every fight on PPV when they should be free.
What do you mean next week?Watch it here in a few hours. And I wasn't just refering to Floyd but to all the boring fighters.
FL. I think the bars have to pay a fortune to be able to show PPV to the public. I think they charge them a certain $ amount based on max capacity or something like that. I may be wrong though. They said somthing like that when I wanted to watch a Gators game on PPV a few years ago.
Maybe that's what I need to do. Mexicans love boxing I might just need to do that. My Mexican homie who I would normally go over his house and watch fights is out of town this weekend.
Mna you live in Houston I live in Romania.PPV in Romania don't exist..yet.We either get the fight on tv when I go out to a bar with friends to watch which is pretty rare and mostly european cards or we don't get it at all and I watch it on the internet.Imagine when it's 9 or 10 oclock in the States it's 4 in the morning here, just imagine how Wlad vs Ibragimov was at 4 in the morning in a bar.
Yes, what you just said is very true. Bars I go into in my hometown of Pittsburgh, always have UFC PPV's on tv at the bars, but when it comes to boxing, only PBF and Oscar get any play at the bars. I remember a few years ago, I was so exctied to see big signs saying "Tyson/Williams, Mike is back and you can see it here" outside most bars in my area, same with Tyson/McBride, and when I went into the one bar and also Hooters, both places were packed with people, you really felt the energy in the room. It's just too bad the average guy is into the MMA and not boxing anymore.
Great news my boy just called and said he found a bar that will be showing the fight and it's free until 6. I couldn't be happier right now.:happy :happy :happy :happy :happy
