Boxing is a sport. Sports are a form of entertainment. Boxers have an obligation to entertain the paying fans. Guys like Ward, Rigondeaux, and Lara should NEVER question why they're not more popular or getting paid more.

If the opponent is not doing anything, then someone has to GO FORWARD AND CREATE ACTION.

I agree esp when fans are paying to watch,re Ward he does it because he's allowed to and for some reason the judges score him for it,up to the refs to either let em fight on the inside in a genuine way or break em apart,if after a few rounds the clinching is excessive he should take a point away, that would sort it out no?

Hopefully you'll be by the bedside of these fighters when they're eating through a straw. Can't tire their shoes. Can't recognize their kids. etc.

The goal of every fighter should be to WIN. WINNING is the only thing that matters.

Sure, guy. Try and convince me that you would rather watch a boring fight over an action packed one.

Exciting is subjective. Isn't it Ironic that all the guys you categorized as "boring" are my favorite fighters. I love watching guys that show skills. If I wanted to watch a bar room brawl I know where to find that.

Boxing is a sport, a competition, of which the point is to win.

Boxing is a sport, and it is presented on a plate in a free market.

Just like with food, pay for the plate you want.

Entertainment is a vital component but it should never trump the spirit of athletic competition and risk becoming a circus attraction for mindless bloodthirsty viewers.

Anybody who willingly watches boxing and MMA and find it entertaining deep down thirst for blood and for somebody to be having a seizure on the floor. The excuses of " oh i watch for skill " is a lie, if you want to watch an activity that really needs skill then watch archery or tennis. The aim of fighting is to render the other person unconscious or just unable to continue, and due to that aim death can result of it and the fighters and supporters of it know that.
