With the proliferation of alphabet titles, there have been a lot of mediocre fighters who have contested for titles. This is nothing new, and it doesn't mean that boxing is any worse that ever.

You are delusional really if you ever think boxing was filled with solid contenders in all weight classes.

The fallacy that boxing has declined so much is false. Divisions ebb and flow, but let's not pretend the overall talent pool is all that worse than say 20 years ago across the board.

Zak, you know when you don't post about chins all the time, you actually make good points and have knowledge of the sport.

Multiple ABC's have been out for awhile... gifting titles as well.

    Boxing is diluted.

we are not talking about contenders a world champion and a former world champion. who a couple of years ago would not have got a sniff in.

do you think geale or barker would beat taylor or pavlik

If you can't appreciate a fight like that, you're not a true fan. Sound's like you only watch US fighters and are blinded by nationalism

You'd be right if history was on your side.

..but let's forget about all the absolutely shitty champs over the last 30 years.
