Those guys you listed all had one sided fights... and here we are staring down the barrel of great pickem fights allready signed like

    Kova v ward
    LsC v framp
    Fury v klit 2
    Postol v crawf

Aswell as potentially great fights against the best in their division such as welterweight with so many great names who are now starting to fight eachother because they no longer have the option of waiting for the may or pac payday (this is what ruined our chances of seeing khan v bradley)

Get hype son... theres great fights coming up and plenty of talent to go around. No matter what you like in a boxer weather it be ***** to the wall aggression and heart or a slick masterful defensive boxer you can find elite levels of each in alot of divisions right now to jump and watch

Alot of casuals wont take notice of these names until the media shoves them down our throat as the next best thing and casuals will take their word for it and watch from then on in which is fine but in doing so you miss the opportunity to see those fighters mature and grow. You watch them slowly (and some not so slowly, im looking at you lomachenko) step up in competition and either rise to the occasion or fall short

Its a great time to be a boxing fan

:deal Great post especially this highlighted section. That is all people want is a hype, but with a nemesis. That was the essence of the May/Pac 5 year drama circle. If it was a sitcom it would be the Sopranos, drama for nearly a decade and a **** ending.:hey

I appreciate the positive attitude since fans beat the sport up a little too much sometimes, but it has to be said that this year has not been great so far. These are the big fights we've had this year:

    Kovalev-Pascal 2
    Pacquiao-Bradley 3
    Khan-Canelo
    Vargas-Salido
    Porter-Thurman

    And coming up:

    Postol-Crawford
    Ward-Kovalev (probably)
    Fury-Klitschko 2
    Brook-Vargas
    Linares-Crolla
    Santa Cruz-Frampton

That's pretty pathetic. We have lots of names but not a lot of big match-ups. Canelo is unwilling to fight GGG. Wilder and Povetkin fell through. Fury-Klitschko 2 got pushed back. Lomachenko-Walters fell through and Walters hasn't done anything since his last fight. Gonzales-Estrada 2 hasn't happened yet. Danny Garcia hasn't fought at all. Haye keeps fighting nobodies, Joshua is still green. Golovkin can't get a good fight with any other top Middleweights. Stevenson is fighting a low ranked guy and has become irrelevant. Andrade just said he doesn't want to fight Lara, or the Charlos in his very next fight, and Lara isn't keen to fight his stablemates the Charlos. Mares pulled out of his fight injured. Rigondeaux is in perpetual limbo and Donaire hasn't been matched tough in years.

Cotto, Maidana, Matthysse, Marquez, Hopkins are all inactive or semi-retired.

So the best aren't fighting the best (which only really used to be true about Pacweather during all that drama) and it's taking forever to get any division sorted, while yesterday's stars and action heroes leave behind a void.

Boxing has huge problems right now. And it sucks.

you all need to stop whining. There's plenty of good fights coming up. You're getting spoiled by mega fights and the biggest mega fight of all just took a dump on boxing fans.

last couple of weeks in July has some interesting matchups, and Kova is fighting next week. enjoy.

We do get Postol vs Crawford though, that should be good.

What recent years did you prefer over 2016? 2016 is a pretty good year of boxing, when do we get fights like kovalev/ward, 2 guys who are still in their early 30's. Kovalev/Ward is a better fight than Pac/May.

Look at the p4p list fighters. Choco ain't fighting no one. GGG is left alone. Rigo is floating away. Canelo is fighting Liam smith. Only Kova and Ward.
