Dont forget Montiel - Darchinyan or basically Montiel vs. anyone in the bantamweight division making noise right about now. :happy
There's nothing to complain about. Super six is still going, Pac vs Mayweather is still possible and there are many other good fights that could happen soon, too many good prospects coming up. I think it's fair to say whatever happens in the sport there will always be emos complaining, I've been hearing it's dead since Tyson went to prison.
The super six is still going but It seems kind of pointless now. Dirrell-Ward is a fight with two of the most talented fighters which would have been a very skillful bout and we are now being robbed of that fight. Froch-Abraham has potential to be a classic but has now been pushed back to the end of November. We should have been able to be watching this fight this saturday if it wasn't for Froch's "injury".
Dirrell, Kessler, you silly mother****ers. That's it I'm through with the ****ing super six. Thanks for changing the face of boxing guys, good job. You brought integrity and transparency back to the sport, as well as giving us some of the most exciting fights in the sport's history! Hope we get to see a supersix in every weight class! Can't wait to tune in.
I couldn't agree more. I used to get together with my brother and a few friends to watch the big fights every few weeks. We haven't have a boxing night in more than 8 months. It's disgraceful how this sport treats its fans. I wouldn't be surprised if it is completely overtaken by the UFC within a decade. At least with them you can plan a night around the event. I don't like the product, but boxing has become amazingly unreliable over the past few years.
I will always get excited and tune in for the big fights, but I've got to say that it's getting hard to be a boxing fan. Convincing my friends to get together and watch the fights is so much harder these days. People just aren't into it. They don't know the fighter, they don't know the sport. And more often than not, they don't care to learn. Boxing is really on life support of late.
Sitting around watching the big fights with friends was always my favorite part about the sport. In 07-08 we had so many great times. Mayweather-Hatton, Cotto-Mosley, Pavlik-Taylor, Cotto-Margarito all had every one jumping out of their seats going crazy... So far this year the only fights everyone got together for was Pac/Clottey and May/Mosley. other then rd. 2 of the may/mosley fight everyone pretty much sat and watched these in boredom and were fast asleep by the time the final bell rang.
What exactly do you mean by Floyd Mayweather? Are you saying he is keeping the sport alive or he is ruining it???
It's pointless because they started out with 6 fighters...and out of those 6 only 3 are left and they keep putting in guys who don't have a chance.
I agree. More than likely atleast one or two of these will get cancelled that's just the way this year has been.
